Moxibustion

Moxibustion therapy is a traditional Chinese medicine treatment that uses burning mugwort leaves or sticks to stimulate acupuncture points in the body for the purpose of conditioning the body and promoting health. Mugwort is a common Chinese herb with warming properties. In moxibustion therapy, compressed mugwort leaves are burned or ground into fine powder to make moxa sticks, which are then placed on specific acupuncture points on the body to burn.

The principle of moxibustion therapy is to stimulate the acupoints through the burning heat and the properties of herbs to regulate the movement of Qi and blood in the body and the balance of Yin and Yang in the body. According to TCM theory, moxibustion can warm and clear the meridians, promote blood circulation, and remove blood stasis, warm viscera, drive away cold and dehumidify, help to promote Qi and blood circulation, enhance immunity, and improve overall health.

Health benefit of Moxibustion: can be used for many reasons because it provides many benefits. The first benefit of moxibustion is it is warming to the body. Many people who have autoimmune diseases, low immunity and blood conditions are frequently cold. In moxibustion therapy, different acupoints are selected for moxibustion according to specific needs. Common acupoints include specific points along the meridians and disease-related points. Through the stimulation of acupoints, it can adjust the functions of the corresponding viscera, relieve pain, improve blood circulation, and adjust the balance of the body.

Moxibustion therapy has a long history in TCM tradition and is widely used in TCM clinical practice. However, as an alternative therapy, it is not suitable for everyone, especially for some specific health conditions, such as acute infections, skin diseases, etc., moxibustion may not be suitable. Therefore, before accepting moxibustion therapy, it is best to consult a professional Chinese medicine practitioner or doctor to ensure safety and effectiveness.
